New York City opened its vaccination eligibility to Private Practice employees in early January. That day, every single employee of Center Aesthetic & Dermatology got online and scheduled their first dose of the COVID-19 Vaccine immediately. We had been watching the clock closely, for this moment, for months. That morning, it was the only thing I could focus on, truly. Not for a moment did I feel hesitant or doubtful in a way that many people are still feeling towards the vaccine, and as the business manager for the practice, I did my due diligence in studying all that we could know about the Moderna and Pfizer options. There was a sense of trust I had to put into the system, into the science. Nothing is guaranteed right now, but I know that we to, at the very least, try.

2020 was a pivotal year for Center. We were able to end the year on a high note with the onboarding of our Board Certified Dermatology PA, Monique Olivares. We had 3 new staff members join us. We acquired new treatments, techniques, and devices that involve a curriculum of training for our staff. We switched up our booking and communication systems to make it easier and more accessible for you to book your treatment in an instant, or talk to our staff right through a HIPAA compliant text message. And our patient base grew. Big time. We run a very busy practice, which A) we are insanely incredibly grateful for and B) makes us acutely aware of the heightened sense of safety we must execute. The team getting vaccinated was simply just another step in the right direction for us, for you.

I feel truly blessed to have a team that is so deeply dedicated to contributing to a safe environment for our patients, for each other, for our community. We, as New Yorkers, have been through uniquely trying and traumatic times this past year, so if Center Aesthetic & Dermatology can be a place of calm, of comfort, and of safe keeping, we're going to achieve that for you every single day. That's our promise.

And with that, it goes without saying how we are all so collectively grateful to the front line workers who are providing these vaccines to us and our fellow NYC neighbors. Their work is that of heroes. We're living through history right now and taking each day with its challenges and its successes.
