Coolsculpting

We can help contour your frame by ridding it of unwanted fat bulges with Coolsculpting. It’s an FDA approved non-invasive, non-surgical procedure that freezes your unwanted fat with no downtime. Center Aesthetic & Dermatology is proud to offer the latest technology from Coolsculpting - the CoolAdvantage applicator which reduces treatment time, bruising, swelling and produces superior results in fat loss.

What is Coolsculpting?

Coolsculpting is a procedure that uses low temperatures to reduce pockets of fat in the abdomen, flanks, arms, inner thighs, bra fat, back fat, and chin areas. The FDA approved device kills the fat cells by cryolipolysis, while part of your skin is held under vacuum by an applicator. About 20% of the fat cells freeze and are reabsorbed by the body. Your skin is unaffected and remains completely safe and intact.

What can I expect during a treatment?

During your treatment, a gel pad and applicator will be applied to the targeted area. The Coolsculpting applicator delivers controlled cooling to the targeted fat. During your procedure, feel free to read, check email, or even take a nap. We also offer Netflix and Bose Wireless Headphones for you to enjoy your time here at Center.

Does Coolsculpting hurt?

As the name suggests, the Coolsculpting procedure can be a little chilly. Controlled cooling is delivered via an applicator to freeze the targeted fat. Though you may feel intense cold initially, this feeling usually subsides within 5 to 10 minutes as the area numbs. Because most applicators use a vacuum to draw fatty tissue into the applicator cup, you may also feel some pulling, tugging, and/or mild pinching.

Is there any downtime involved?

The Coolsculpting procedure is completely non-surgical, which makes returning to normal activities afterward a typically easy process. Often times, patients even return to work after their Coolsculpting treatment is over.

How many Coolsculpting treatments will I need?

Everyone's body is different - so this question can truly only be answered after a consultation. One of our providers will help you create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific goals. The length of your Coolsculpting treatment will vary depending on the number of areas being treated during one visit. The latest technology of Coolsculpting can treat a patient in 35-60 minutes, some patients have more than one treatment during the same office visit. We offer Dual-Sculpting so you can treat two areas at once. We work with you to make sure your treatment plan is optimal and fits into your schedule seamlessly.

Are there alternatives to Coolsculpting?

Coolsculpting is the only treatment that uses cold temperatures to rid the body of fat.

We do offer alternatives to Coolsculpting, though, including the following:

  • SculpSure Warmsculpting: Is the world's first FDA-cleared laser treatment for non-invasive lipolysis of the abdomen, flanks, back, inner thighs, outer thighs, and submittal region. Flat, non-suction applicators are designed for consistent, natural-looking results. SculpSure uses heat-based lasers to heat and kill troublesome fat in just 25 minutes. The skin surface is unharmed by the laser, enhanced with Contact Cooling technology. Patients can see up to 24% fat reduction in as little as one treatment. Please contact us for more information to see if you’re a candidate for SculpSure.
  • EMSculpt: When used on the abdomen area, EMSculpt (the world's first FDA approved device to build muscle and sculpt the body using supramaximal contractions) helps burn fat and carve out the ab muscles. Here at Center Aesthetic & Dermatology, we pair EMSculpt with Coolsculpting for optimal fat loss and muscle defining results to the abdomen.
  • Kybella: Kybella is an injectable deoxycholic acid which is the first and only FDA-approved non-surgical injectable treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submittal fullness (sometimes referred to as a double chin).
  • Exilis: Exilis is a non-invasive radio frequency (RF) device designed to focus varying depths of heat to customize treatment for skin tightening, fat reduction or both. Exilis treatments are also a non-surgical method for body-shaping and circumferential reduction of targeted fatty deposits on the body.

What are the side effects of Coolsculpting?

During the procedure you may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, or skin sensitivity. A sensation of fullness in the back of the throat may occur after a submental area treatment. These effects are temporary and generally resolve within days or weeks. Though rare, some additional side effects may occur. We are happy to answer any questions during your consultation to ensure your ultimate safety and comfort.
